Oscar Time!

As you all know, I’m a fan of awards season.  I like to ohh and ahh at the dresses, hair, and makeup, and I like to take a stab at predicting the winners.  This year we dressed up for the Golden Globes so I was sort of planning to skip it for the Oscars since I had nothing to wear and we were running a bit late for dinner.  Hallie likes any excuse to wear a tutu and necklaces, so she was Oscar-ready but the rest of us went to dinner without our fancy-wear.

When we got to Janet and Art’s house, Katie and Chris were dressed up Oscar style and I was a little bummed that we were missing out on the fun.  I headed to the closet in search of a feather boa that I remembered seeing awhile back and randomly found a red satin dress…..tada – instant Oscar outfit!  Hanging right next to it was a suit jacket, so Jeff and I both did quick changes and got in on the fun.  Ben thought he already looked handsome in his outfit so we didn’t dig any deeper for something crazy for him to wear.

This is Ben’s idea of handsome.  I can’t say I disagree!

Here’s Hallie and Auntie Katie (dressed as the Black Swan).  People say that Hallie looks more like Katie, than she looks like me.  Sometimes I think I agree!

I got cute pics with both of the kids and one with Jeff but we didn’t get one all together as a family.  So here I am with each person individually – best I can do!

It was a fun night but I have to admit this year’s show was kind of a snooze.  Judging by how well we all did on our ballots, the winners were pretty predictable and I wasn’t too impressed with the show in general.  Good thing we made our own fun!
