As winter drags on, the kids are making hibernating a little more bearable. They are growing like weeds and crack me up every day with the things they say and do. I thought I would share a few random pics I’ve taken recently and catch you up on the kids a bit.
Hallie likes to talk on the phone these days (she just likes to talk, period!). I snapped this pic (below) of her the other day when she was talking to my dad. The next pic is Ben bringing me a nice bedtime snack of pizza, an orange, a waffle, and ketchup from his play kitchen. Good thing he isn’t in charge of meal planning around here!
As you can see from the pic above, Hallie is still sleeping in a crib. She seems like such a big girl lately so sometimes I feel like she should move to a toddler bed but as long as she isn’t climbing out of her crib, we are keeping her in there! She sleeps 12 hours at night and still takes a 2 hour nap in the afternoon, so I figure why fix something that isn’t broken?
One thing we have been working on a little bit is potty training. We aren’t totally committed at this point, but we just want her to sit on there and give it a try every once in awhile. Hallie is a little more stubborn than Ben was and isn’t too thrilled about this new development.
Even with bribes of M&Ms, a sticker chart, and promises of princess big girl underwear, she says she would rather go in her diaper. She did have one success about a week ago, but so far that is the lone sticker on her chart! For now, we are letting her call the shots but once she gets closer to 2.5, we will probably get more serious. I know that I am super excited to be DONE with diapers forever so it can’t come soon enough for me!
I had to take this picture of her on the potty the other day because she looked so funny sitting there in her fancy-wear and on her computer.
Ben has been staying busy at home but also really looks forward to going to preschool. He goes three afternoons a week and is learning a lot. He always so excited to come home and tell me what letter they learned about, the games the played, the songs they sang, and all the other fun stuff they are up to.
Yesterday was “Professional Dress Up Day” at school and Ben wore his Chef costume to class. He looked so adorable and was really excited to be able to wear a costume to school (they don’t get to dress up for Halloween). I snapped this pic of him when we dropped him off.
While I’m talking about the kids I just have to say that watching them together these days is so amazing. They are so sweet with each other (most of the time) and often go up to give each other a random hug or say “I love you so much”. Its so adorable and just melts my heart. I know that these days are probably numbered so I try to cherish every little moment.
