Christmas in Iowa and my 30th Birthday

The first weekend in January we headed to Iowa to celebrate Christmas with Jeff’s Grandma Kay and his many aunts, uncles and cousins.  We always have a lot of fun and are far too spoiled and this year was no exception.  Its always pretty crazy and crowded during present opening time but I got a few pictures this year.

After present opening, the plan was for all the cousins to go play paintball.  I had never played before and kind of forgot about the paintball plan, so I didn’t really pack appropriate clothes.  I almost wussed out and stayed back with the kids, but decided to suck it up and give it a try.  It ended up being really fun but getting hit hurt a bit more than the “rubber band snap” level of pain I was promised.  Smile  After paintball we headed back to Jeff’s grandma’s to pick up the kids and I was surprised with a birthday cake and we then headed to Jeff’s aunt Diane’s house for some 30th birthday celebrations!

I think that it must be already in the mail right next to my 29th birthday surprise for you! :) Damn the post office!

Why are our birthdays at such a crappy time of the year? One of these years we WILL say "screw it all!" and take a girls trip somewhere fun (and without husbands or kiddos) despite the chaos!!
