With Thanksgiving over, I was more than ready get going on our Christmas decorating. I love Christmas decorations & music and I am always a little sad that we only get to enjoy them for one month every year. Jeff is adamant that Christmas festivities not start until Thanksgiving is over and other than sneaking my holiday music a little early, I agree. So last week we hauled in the giant green bag that holds our tree, put on the Christmas tunes, and got to work!
Jeff and I get the kids each an ornament every year and write their name & the year on the bottom. They also get ornaments from their grandparents so they have quite the collection going already. Combined with the ornaments Jeff I have been receiving over the years, putting all the ornaments up gets to be a pretty big job. This year I got Ben & Hallie Buzz and Woody ornaments. Even though I knew it was impractical, I went with super-breakable ones. As you can guess, Hallie’s Woody ornament never made it to the tree. Oops!

We got the tree up and plugged in & I shot a quick video of the kids turning on the lights. Also a there is a 10 second one of Hallie saying what she always says when she sees a Christmas tree or lights on houses: “Beautiful LIghts!”
Once we got the tree all fluffed up, the kids finally got to put on the ornaments. Well, the non-breakable ones anyway!
And I wanted to include this pic of Hallie since I think that she looks like me when I was a little girl in this one. Don’t you think so mom & dad?
