A Trip to the State Fair

My mom is in town this week working and visiting & today we decided to take Ben to the state fair. There was tons to see and he was amazed by everything! Since he is still a little too young to ride the rides, his favorite thing of the day was all the animals. We saw a horse on the way into the fair and then he was requesting to see them all day long. :) Horse is another animal that he can sign but not say and due to his multiple requests for horses, I think my mom has learned how to sign it too! We did see more horses and also checked out some dogs, sheep, cows, ducks and pigs. He got plenty of practice using his animal sounds that's for sure!

In between our animal adventures we tried out a bunch of fair foods and let Ben have some cheese curds, tater tots, mini-doughnuts and some of my ice cream cone. I think he hit his junk food limit for the rest of the year!

It was a long, hot day at the fair and we were ALL ready for naps by the time we were heading home. Ben tried his hardest to stay awake but only made it half-way home before crashing with his Elmo (lower right pic in the collage).

Here are some of the highlights from today. Click on the collage to make it bigger if you are having a hard time seeing the pics :)
