Ben's New Fish & Baby Bump Update

Ben had a big week this week - he got his first pet! He has been watching a little Sesame Street lately and his favorite part seems to be the goldfish Dorothy in Elmo's World. He can't say fish but he goes crazy signing fish whenever she comes on the screen :) Since he seems to love her so much we decided to get him a little goldfish of his own.

Ben had a blast at the pet store checking out all the fish, the birds and the kitties up for adoption. ("Kitty" is one of his favorite words!) Of course there were lots of dogs in there with their owners as well. He got in quite the barking match with a noisy little chihuahua. Every time the chihuahua would bark, he would bark back, lol. It was pretty cute.

We named his fish Dorothy after the one on Elmo's world and since we got two fish we named the other one Toto. :)

I know Jeff is really hoping to eventually work his way up to a "real" pet like a dog, but at least Ben is pretty excited about our new little friends!

In other Erdall news, my baby bump continues to grow. I'm feeling like I have crossed the line into looking pregnant instead of just chubby. I'm 18 weeks and 1 day today (Monday) and we have 10 days to go until our big ultrasound! Ben seems to be coming around to the idea of having a little brother or sister in the house. If I ask him "Is there a baby in my tummy?" he leans over to kiss my belly. And when I ask "Do you want a baby to come live with us?" he now says "yeah" instead of shaking his head no. So that's progress!

The belly pic at right was taken last week (17w3d). I'm trying to take at least one pic every few weeks since I have barely any pictures of myself when I was pregnant with Ben. I wish I had more so I had something to compare my current bump to. I am convinced its bigger!

Well thats all for now! An early HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my Grandpa Cliff! Its his bday tomorrow!
