Two Weddings - One Weekend!

What are the odds - Jeff and I both had cousins get married this last weekend! Jeff flew to Virginia City, MT for his cousin Stacy's wedding and Ben & I headed to Laguna Beach, CA to celebrate with my cousin Sarah. It was Ben's first time meeting a lot of my extended family members, which is why we decided he would come with me. Hopefully we can see them again before another two years goes by. Ben had SO much fun with his little cousins Addie, Gwynnie, Ian and Mason.

Jeff tells me that Stacy's wedding was beautiful, short and sweet. Of course he didn't take any pictures for me to see but said Stacy looked beautiful in her dress and I'm sure others will have pictures to prove it! :) I can't wait to see them! Congrats Stacy and Justin - I wish Ben and I could have been there!

I also got to see an amazing wedding. There really is nothing like an ocean-front wedding with beautiful music, a gorgeous bride and lots of family fun. The day was a bit cloudy and cool for California but nothing could put a damper on such a happy occasion. Another congrats to Sarah & Jason - I was so glad we could be there for your special day.

We didn't have time for any real sight-seeing since we spent so much time visiting but the Oscar Meyer wiener-mobile happened to be staying at our hotel so I guess we did see something new! We went to check it out after breakfast one morning (you will notice Ben is in his pj's in that picture).

We did most of our catching up with family next to the pool and ocean-front. Ben just learned to say "pool" this weekend and it was the first word out of his mouth most mornings! He wasn't as crazy about the ocean since the waves were pretty big and loud. He was scared and wouldn't even dip his toes in! He is becoming a good little pool swimmer with his water wings though and was being quite the daredevil jumping off the side of the pool into my arms.

California Oct. 2008

It was a fun weekend but definitely exhausting. We flew into Minneapolis late last night and I think we will be catching up on our sleep for at least a few days. Ben was SUPER excited to see Jeff when we landed - it was so cute! Jeff had made a little video of himself and sent it to my cell phone on the first day when we were gone and Ben requested it every night before bed -- aww!
