Snow Day!

We woke up this morning to our first snow storm of the season.  I was kind of bummed to see that  winter  had blown into town while we slept, but the kids were thrilled!  Until today, I had been in denial about winter coming soon which means I had no snowpants, boots, hat, or mittens for Hallie (thankfully Ben’s stuff from last year still fits).  I couldn’t deny the kids a day out in the snow so we slid our way over to Target to stock up on winter gear. 

When we got there I learned that I wasn’t the only procrastinator in town.  The children’s boot aisle was packed with people and the shelves were nearly empty.  We lucked out and found a pair of boots in Hallie’s size but most of the people there left disappointed.  We also snagged the last normal (not bullet fast or shaped like an alien spacecraft) sled and the kids thought it was pretty cool when I pulled them out to the car in it. :)

When we got back home, Katie came over to play with the kids in the snow and I was able to get a start on the shoveling.  Jeff had to work today so he missed out on the first round outside but as soon as he got home he took Ben out for a some more snow time while Hallie caught an afternoon snooze.
