Star of the week & Hallie girl too

Ben was star of the week this week at preschool. Basically that means he got to be first in line for everything, wear a special star sticker, and tell his classmates all about himself with the help of a poster he made at home. Or truth be told, a poster that he helped with a little bit and mommy mostly made. :) According to his poster Ben wants to be a Firefighter or a football player but I don't think he quite gets the concept of "what I want to be when I grow up" yet. Usually if you ask him where he wants to work he says "at the wine store" since that's where Jeff works. Awww. We also had to guess a little bit on the wishes since he gave one word answers like "baseball" and "spiderman" when I asked him what he wishes. I think he was just naming things he could see in the room. :)

Star of the week wasn't the only fun thing happening at school this week. As I write this entry, Ben is enjoying a Pajama Party at the school with some of his little friends. He looked so cute in his little pjs that I had to snap a picture of him when I dropped him off. I'm sure he is having a blast and getting a bit tired by now. The party goes until 9pm!

Since Ben is at the party (and Jeff is at a wine tasting) Hallie and I got in some nice quality time tonight. She was eating up all the attention and I just had to take a video of her and I playing the little game she invented in her crib. If you have about 90 seconds to spare, check it out below. You can even hear her say "dada" towards the end. She says mama too and said "uh-oh" for a few days but seems to be on strike from that one for now. :)

Other happenings in Hallie's world.........We are starting her on table foods but she still definitely prefers her jars of baby food. Ben is a super picky eater and I have pretty much boxed myself into a corner with him, so I promised myself that I would push Hallie a little harder to accept all kinds of foods. Wish us luck! She is crawling like a madwoman and is a master at pulling up to her knees, but hasn't pulled up to stand just yet. As you can see from the pic, she is a great stander if she has something to hang onto. She will be one year old at the end of this month. I can't believe how fast its gone by!

Look at those chubby cheeks! So cute. Is she still afraid of strangers? I can't believe it's been a year... time flies!
