Jeff and I took Ben to the fireworks show down the street at Normandale Lake on July 3rd. We weren't sure if he would like them or be scared because they were so loud. We did have to plug his ears for the first five minutes or so but once he got used to the noise he didn't mind it at all. He LOVED watching them and clapped when the show was over. It took quite awhile for the show to get going since we had to wait for dark so we bought him a glow in the dark sword to play with while we waited. It was really dark on the walk home and there were times when I was definitely glad that we had Ben's sword to light the way :)
The next day we decided that we would head up to Lake Mille Lacs for the weekend. It was fun to hang out with family and see Ben enjoy the lake. A few months ago I had bought him a cute little Spiderman life jacket and I wasn't sure he would cooperate and wear it but he was so great! He seemed to like it and had no problem wearing it to play down by the lake. Ben did go for a few short swims but his favorite activity of the weekend was throwing rocks into the water. I swear he could've done it all day!
