Happy Easter everyone! Jeff and I took Ben to see the Easter bunny yesterday so I thought I would share the picture with you. He didn't cry at all and actually neither did any of the other kids in line before us. I was surprised since I'm pretty sure I have seen pictures of myself as a kid crying in terror on the Easter bunny's lap :)
Even though Ben looks pretty happy in this picture he's actually a sick little guy. He has a horrible cough that I think might be developing into whooping cough. Poor little man!
We died Easter Eggs last Thursday night. Ben had a blast but he did break quite a few eggs in the process. He thought that the best method for dying was to throw the eggs into the cup of dye and watch them make a nice splash. The egg dying ended with a cup of red dye spilling all over the table and Jeff's pants :)We had a pretty fun weekend - our friends Jenn and Paul were in town for the Frozen Five hockey tournament and stayed with us during their visit. It was so fun to catch up and even though he was shy at first Ben loved having new friends to play with. He was bummed out when they had to leave today -- I think he was hoping they were sticking around permanently. I guess mom & dad must get a little boring.
As for whats coming up.....Ben has a speech evaluation this Friday. His pediatrician recommended that we get one since he only has one word (besides his sign language) so far. She said she isn't worried about him but that the speech pathologist might have some good suggestions for us on how to get him on the fast track to talking. My friend Stacey is a speech pathologist (but she lives in denver - darn it!) and has already given me some suggestions that seem to be helping so hopefully Ben will have lots of words soon! :)
